About the Auriva Halo
What does the Auriva Halo actually do?
The Halo is a personal wellness massager that combines three modalities — gentle heat (up to 42°C), 3D air-compression with eight contact points, and rhythmic low-frequency vibration — into a single 15-minute session designed for the pelvic and hip area. It’s used as part of a self-care or recovery routine to relax tight muscles and promote a sense of comfort.
Is the Halo a medical device?
No. The Auriva Halo is a personal wellness massager and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. If you have a specific medical concern — pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, etc. — please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
How is it different from a regular back massager?
Most back massagers are flat and target the spine. The Halo is an arched cradle shaped around the geometry of the pelvis. Its eight contact points sit on the hip and lower-back area specifically, and the three modalities (heat, compression, vibration) run simultaneously rather than as separate modes.
Why no app?
Because the Halo is a one-program device, and adding an app would only add steps. We considered Bluetooth, considered customizable intensity profiles, considered all of it. In every prototype, “press the button” beat “open the app, log in, wait for firmware update, then press start.” So we stripped the app away. The program inside the Halo is the program our women’s-health PT settled on after twelve iterations — you get the same one, every time.
Using the Halo
How long is one session?
15 minutes. The Halo runs a fixed cycle and shuts itself off automatically — no need to set a timer or remember to stop. Most users do one session per day.
Can I use it more than once a day?
Yes — up to two sessions per day, with at least an hour between them. We recommend starting with one daily session for the first week to see how your body responds.
Where should I sit during a session?
On a firm surface — a yoga mat, a low couch, or the bedroom floor work well. Soft mattresses don’t give the cradle a stable base, which reduces how well the airbags can wrap around your hips. Place the Halo on the surface first, then sit so the cradle is around your hip area and the heat panel rests against your lower back.
What does the heat actually feel like?
Warm, not hot. Heat ramps gently from room temperature to about 42°C (108°F) over the first three minutes, then holds steady. If it ever feels uncomfortably hot, unplug and pause use — the Halo has thermal cutoffs, but no two bodies feel temperature identically.
Is it noisy?
Under 45 decibels — quieter than a refrigerator hum. You can use it in the same room as a sleeping baby (we checked).
Safety & Suitability
Is it safe to use after giving birth?
Wait until you’ve been cleared by your healthcare provider before using any new self-care tool. Typically that’s about 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 8–10 weeks after a Cesarean. After clearance, start with a single short session and check in with how your body responds. If you experience any pain, dizziness, or unusual sensation, stop and contact your provider.
Can I use it while pregnant?
No. Do not use the Auriva Halo during pregnancy. Heat, compression, and vibration combined are not appropriate during pregnancy. If you are trying to conceive, consult your provider before use.
Are there other conditions I should ask my doctor about first?
Yes. Check with your provider before use if you have: a history of blood clots or DVT, a pacemaker or implanted medical device, recent abdominal or pelvic surgery, hernias, active infection or inflammation in the pelvic area, severe varicose veins, or any chronic condition affecting circulation or nerves in the lower body.
Can teenagers use it?
The Halo is designed for adults (18+). It is not intended for use by minors.
Care & Maintenance
How do I clean it?
After each use, wipe the silicone pads with the included dry cloth or a slightly damp soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a small amount of mild soap on a damp cloth, then wipe dry. Never submerge the Halo in water and never use harsh chemical cleaners — they can damage the silicone.
How should I store it?
Flat, in a dry place at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. The included linen sleeve is breathable and protects the finish.
What’s the lifespan?
With daily use, expect 5+ years of typical operation. The most common wear point is the silicone airbag pads — replacement pads are available through customer support.
